Wailing on IE again? And rightly so, but Netscape in my experience is just as bad. This error message came up the other day when I tried to get to Netscape's home page to look about some plugins:
Netscape is unable to locate the server home.netscape.com.
They don't know where their own home page is? The connection was OK, by the way, other sites were coming up just fine.
Except, of course, that this might have been caused because:
a) there were router problems preventing a connection (likely)
b) their server was down (less probable)
Deja News hit me with one last night:
The system encountered an unknown error. YOUR SEARCH DIDN'T WORK BECAUSE:
Successful
They also displayed a file as "Article 179 of exactly 175." It all went to hell when they started teaching New Math . . .

Yeah, that ‘New Math’ will get you every time. Always wondered if that was what was behind the early Pentium chips … remember the ones with the very independently minded math coprocessors?
