Passing the Blame

Ok, first off, the e-mail address is private, and I'd really appreciate it if you kept it that way. I don't care who knows my name, but the e-mail address is a different matter.:) Thanks.

Anyway, on to my story:

One day, while playing a DOS game in a Windows 95 DOS session, it crashed. A few seconds of disk thrashing and one of those classic crash dialogs came up saying "This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down." The only problem was, the message said that *Netscape* had done the nefarious deed. I wasn't running Netscape. In fact, I had closed Netscape before I even started the DOS window. Even funnier was that this computer (a "genuine" IBM) was almost brand new and, except for the DOS game, was untouched by third-party programs.

Hey, isn’t it obvious? Haven’t you been watching the trial proceedings? Doesn’t everyone know that Netscape’s responsible for everything? (At least, that’s the gospel according to St. Bill)
