More On "No Response Allowed"
Actually, this error message does describe the actual problem, it just doesn't offer any particular clue as to the solution.
Microsoft Word and Exchange/Outlook have a feature, when used together, called WordMail. Basically, it just means that you use Word as your e-mail editor. However, if you pair a version of Word that disallows HTML editing via OLE (such as Word 6 or 95) with a version of Outlook that is HTML-aware (such as Outlook 98 or 2000), Outlook tries to open an HTML-editing session of Word, and cannot. You can still write new messages, if your default outgoing text format is RTF or plaintext, rather than HTML.

The original point, of course, was that the error message -- however descriptive -- was worthless ... unless, of course, like Dan, you already know the solution. Such expectations, however, have little -- if any -- correspondence with reality.
