More On Dummy Keyboards
Thanks for your humorous Error Message Collection.
I noticed that you were looking for a source for a "dummy keyboard plug". Here is the text of my response to a similar question in the newsgroups
"Get hold of an old keyboard. It must have working electronics (usually just the one IC), but need not have functioning keys, or LEDs. Use a hacksaw to cut out the electronics around the IC. Leave the cable and connector intact, but cut through the traces going to the key matrix. Throw this PCB stub into a box such as can be obtained from electronics hobby stores, and there you have it. If you can find a keyboard with a membrane keypad (eg Optima), then the job is even easier. The electronics in these keyboards is located on a small detachable PCB (~14x6 cm)."
