The Error Message Collection Continues

To have no errors

Would be life without meaning

No struggle, no joy

The Error Message Collection began as a contest sponsored by O'Reilly & Associates. However, when the contest closed - August 15th, 1998 - the influx of favorite Error Messages did not stop. Of course, not all of these late responses have been favorite error messages - some have been responses or amplifications to previous error messages. Where a message has been offered to explain or amplify a previous entry, the new material has been appended to the original. Otherwise, the continuing entries are presented in the order they are received. Also, while not - strictly speaking - entries in the Error Message contest, two special features are also included: a too-appropriate cartoon by Ben Sargent and a collection of Haiku Error Messages.

And, yes, please send yours in as well and we will update these pages with your submissions. Whether you want to let off steam, share a good laugh or point up some of the industry's more ludicrous efforts - let us hear from you. Any and all entries are welcome.

Send your favorite error messages to Ben Ezzell or drop by my website at http://www.ezzell.org.
